Fuel Scarcity: DRP Seals 8 Petrol Stations In Kaduna

No fewer than eight petrol stations have in Kaduna State been sealed by the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, over alleged product diversion and price hiking above the legal N145 per litre pump price.

This is even as the agency sealed eight more stations in Kastina State over the same offences. The Ares Operations Manager of the DPR in Kastina Engineer Yusuf Shehu, disclosed this shortly after he led a team to carry out an inspection of the fuel sale around the state.

He said: “In the past one week, we have sealed off no fewer than nine fuel stations for fuel diversification and selling fuel above the pump price of N145. We shall not lift the sanction until they pay the penalties meted on them.

In other developments the Head of Downstream Monitoring and Operations of DPR, Engineer Yahaya Maishara has said that the fuel scarcity being experienced by some states across the country was as a result of a panic buy and hoarding by marketers.

The team who visited some petrol stations including Sul, B and S Bulasawa along Zaria road, Mobil at Lugard Hull Roundabout and NIPCO in Kawo.
