Buhari Commissions Feed Mill worth $150 million in Kaduna

President Muhammadu Buhari was in Kaduna today to commission an integrated feed mill and poultry of Olam International in Kaduna state. The state Governor; Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has since pointed out that agriculture was a means to create employment for millions of youth in the state and so the current administration has been geared towards encouraging investors to put money into that sector and one of the results is the commissioning of the poultry.

The multi-million dollar poultry is located in Chikun Local Government and the major investor behind the successful completion of the poultry is Olam. Governor El- Rufai has pointed out that the decision made by Olam to make such a huge commitment to the state’s agricultural sector testifies that Kaduna is an easy choice to establish businesses because of its unique and investment friendly environment backed by laws.

Olam International has been a leading company in the agricultural sector of the world. They deal with several stages of growing and selling agricultural products in more than fifty countries around the world. They supply industrial raw materials and have huge investments in cash crops such as cotton, cocoa, cashew, and rice.

In September 2015, Governor El-Rufai paid a visit to the Olam headquarters in Singapore to discuss the possibility of investment in Kaduna state and the newly commissioned Olam Feed Mill, Hatchery and Breeder Farm Facility is one of the results of that meeting.
