9mobile; formerly known as Etisalat Nigeria has experienced several disruptions to their services that have led to angry outbursts from their subscribers on social media.
Ibrahim Dikko, the vice president in charge of regulatory and corporate affairs acknowledged the disruptions in their services and apologized via a statement to the general public.
“We are aware that subscribers may be experiencing some disruption with voice, short messaging services and data services due to some technical issues. Our technical teams are currently working assiduously to resolve the issues within the shortest possible time.”
“We sincerely apologize for the inconveniences that this may have caused to our subscribers and we thank them for their patience and understanding.”
9mobile has about 20 million subscribers and is the 4th largest telecommunications in Nigeria. The disruptions led to several of their subscribers taking to social media as they took to Twitter and Facebook to complain.
