A commercial bus transporting passengers from Kaduna to Kwara state was ambushed and attacked in Palwaya Village, Birnin Gwari on Sunday.
The robbers opened fire on the vehicle as the driver attempted to escape the moment he realized the gravity of the situation. However, he could not manage a clean escape as the bullets rained down on the bus killed four of his passengers including an officer of the Nigerian army.
Speaking with news correspondents, the Public Relations Officer of the Kaduna State Police Command; ASP Muktar Aliyu confirmed the incident and assured the residents and victims’ families that a thorough investigation was underway. He further explained that the road was blocked for a few hours after the incident but that the law enforcement officers had cleared the road and supervised the transportation of injured individuals to Kaduna for treatment.
