39th Kaduna International Trade Fair Opens

The Executive President of Nigeria, his Excellency General Muhammad Buhari has urged the citizens of Nigeria to take advantage of the newly opened 39TH Kaduna International Trade Fair. He encouraged all participants and business owners all over Nigeria to see the trade fair as an opportunity to grow their business.

The Executive President of Nigeria, his Excellency General Muhammad Buhari has urged the citizens of Nigeria to take advantage of the newly opened 39TH Kaduna International Trade Fair. He encouraged all participants and business owners all over Nigeria to see the trade fair as an opportunity to grow their business.

President Buhari made this declaration as he declared the trade fair officially open in Kaduna on Friday. The President was represented by the Minister of industry, trade and investments; Mr. Okechukwu Enelamah. Mr. Enelamah read the opening statement of the fair on behalf of President Buhari when the trade fair was declared open at the trade fair complex, Kawo, Kaduna.

He said that Nigeria faced several challenges that made nurturing a stable democracy founded on respect for the rule of law difficult. He explained that the country also faced challenges of security of lives and property, adequate supply of power and energy, infrastructure, judicious management of natural resources. All these make it difficult for creating the enabling environment for the private sector participation in the economy.

The executive governor of Kaduna State; Nasir El-Rufai also responded to the opening statement by urging all the businessmen and business women in Kaduna to take maximum of the trade fair and to use the opportunity to showcase their goods and services. Governor El-Rufai was represented by the deputy governor; Arch. Bala Bantex.

The Kaduna state government promised to continue to encourage both local and foreign investors to make Kaduna State their destination for new start-ups, companies and investments. This is because all the hindrances to conducting businesses easily in Kaduna would be removed.

The National President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Iyalode Alaba Lawson appreciated the efforts of Kaduna state government and urged that the government continues to support investments in the state’s economy especially the private sector and the country at large.

The planning committee of the 39th international trade fair have disclosed that the fair would continue with a quiz competition for senior secondary school students from the 19 Northern states today 10am. A business roundtable, with the theme “Promoting made in Nigerian Products for international Competitiveness” would hold on Tuesday while a trade fair seminar under the chairmanship of Dr. Yakubu Gowon with the theme “Promoting Commerce, Industry and Agriculture for International Competitiveness” would take place on Wednesday.
